At Friendly City Dental, we have the expertise to perform a variety of oral surgeries from tooth extractions to jaw bone grafting.
Typically when a tooth has been damaged by injury or decay, getting a filling or a dental crown will prevent further deterioration. However sometimes the damage is too severe, making preservation of the tooth impossible. For some other people, their mouth may simply be overcrowded. In either case a tooth extraction may be the best option.
A local anaesthetic will be used to ensure the procedure is pain free and in some cases you may choose to be fully sedated. Since there may be some pain after the procedure, we’ll guide you through your pain management options.
Wisdom teeth removal
Wisdom teeth are the final set of teeth that grow at the back of your mouth. Most people don’t have mouths big enough to fit these teeth and they must be removed to prevent impacts and overcrowding. We typically remove wisdom teeth surgically before they have a chance to emerge from the gums. We use anaesthetic for this procedure so you won’t feel any pain. You may also choose to undergo IV sedation.
You may feel some pain after the operation. We’ll guide you through post-procedure care and pain management options.
Alveoloplasty
Alveoloplasty is a procedure that is typically done after teeth have been extracted or lost. This oral surgery smooths and reshapes the jawbone. It must be done before a denture fitting to ensure that the dentures can properly fit your mouth.
